Visvanatha Temple and Nandi Shrine

Visvanatha is dedicated to Shiva, and dates from 1002 AD. The Shrine opposite contains a depiction of Nandi, the bull associated with Shiva.

The accompanying male figure seems to be enjoying the spectacle, while the female figure shows a gesture of complete dismay.

Maybe there is some homoeroticism on the temples after all -- all of the figures in this central scene are female, and notice the position of the upside-down figure's left hand....
