Chitragupta Temple

This temple, dating from c.1000-1025, is one of the few temples in northern India dedicated to the sun god Surya. It is named, however, for Chitragupta, a god assigned with the task of keeping complete records of actions of human beings on the earth, and upon their death, deciding as regards sending them to the heaven or the hell, depending on their actions on the earth.
